Staff received news last week that Maeve Sherlock, Chief Executive since 2003, will be leaving in September to pursue full-time education.

What will be the implications for the organisation & the sector? RAP have just had a new Chief Executive who is by all accounts making a lot of changes to the organisation - perhaps Refugee Action have benefitted from the stability in the CEO post since 1993?

RAP seems that it will embark in a painful reestructure to accomodate the ne w demand from the Home Office, but I assume that an interim CEO will be appointed soon, I will keep you posted

Refugee Council has a new chair of the board of trustees, since Naz Coker laft a few months ago

He is Ram Gidoomal CBE - his biog here

he will be leading the recruitment process for a new chief executive, apparently a head-hunting agency is already on the case ...

Ram Gidoomal quit due to percieved conflict of interest

so that means we are back to vacancies for Chair & Chief Executive at RC
the position at RAP is filled at the moment, but for how long.....?

the new RC CEO will be Donna Covey
